Postvention Australia: Designing Sensitive Support for a Digital Learning Environment
When information deals with grief, bereavement and suicide postvention, how it is presented matters.
Postvention Australia engaged MIH to develop an extensive suite of digital and print resources supporting its Learning Management System (LMS), covering eight distinct areas of postvention support and the diverse communities and audiences they represent.
The challenge was to transform a significant volume of sensitive educational material into clear, accessible and visually consistent resources that could work across digital learning, downloadable documentation and voiceover content.

Creating resources for eight different areas of support required a design approach that could provide consistency without treating every audience or topic as though their needs were identical.
MIH developed a cohesive visual system that could be applied across the entire learning experience, helping users navigate substantial amounts of information while maintaining clarity and sensitivity throughout.
Presentation materials and digital screens were designed specifically for use within the LMS, creating a visual learning experience that supported rather than competed with the subject matter.
For each of the eight areas, we also developed both short- and long-form PDF documentation. This provided learners with accessible supporting resources while ensuring the broader suite remained visually connected and easy to recognise.
The project extended beyond visual design, with MIH also developing voiceover content from supplied scripts for embedding within the LMS. Bringing together visual, written and audio formats helped create a more engaging and flexible digital learning experience.
Throughout the project, careful attention was given to consistency, accessibility and the sensitive nature of the material – ensuring design always served the information and the people accessing it.
