A not-for-profit based in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, Wunan carries out exceptional work to improve the lives of Aboriginal communities. But a saturated marketplace combined with Wunan’s remote location left this NFP in a challenging predicament.

Needing to raise both funding and awareness of its crucial cause, Wunan turned to MIH for NFP marketing support that would help the brand share its story with stakeholders and the wider community.

NFP NFP
  • Website design and development for Wunan, Wunan Health, and iBase.
  • Creation of sub-brands targeting different facets of the main Wunan brand.
  • Market-facing communications to support Wunan’s social enterprises.
  • Brand assets, including annual reports, infographics, newsletters, signage, and anything else that was required to support the brand.

With a big vision that wasn’t matched by its internal marketing capability, Wunan called on MIH’s not-for-profit marketing expertise to give this valuable brand the support it desperately needed.

From developing the Wunan website to creating sub-brands for its social enterprises, our marketing partnership extended across all kinds of projects. Branded assets covered everything from annual reports and infographics to newsletters and event signage, all of which were designed to convey Wunan’s unique story.

Throughout our partnership, our goal remained the same: to ensure that the wonderful work of the Wunan team got the attention (and funding) it deserved.

Knowing where to start and what needs to be done to get started can be a real road block when it comes to updating your website. So when the agency takes the initiative and has the willingness to drive you to action, the positives for change far outweigh the negatives.

From the very first conversation, we knew that Make it Happen (MIH) understood where we at, asking the right questions to clarify the direction we needed to take to meet our business objectives.

The MIH team helped us to challenge the perceptions and preconceived ideas we held around design, content and, crucially, the image we were portraying of indigenous issues on the website. By showing us the importance of conveying a 'real' and accurate depiction of these serious issues - rather than shying away from the often harsh reality of the subject matter - MIH were able to perfectly capture the tone, look and feel we were trying to communicate.

MIH were flexible and easy to work with throughout the website redesign process, providing creative solutions to the many barriers that exist in the tough not for profit, non-Government Indigenous environment of Wunan.

Our new website has exceeded our creative expectations and we have had great feedback from our key stakeholders. We are embracing the tools we now have to communicate our achievements and challenges to the broader community - raising awareness and encouraging connection with people that want to contribute financially.

MIH have provided us the tools and the training to make most content updates internally, with the blog and news feeds managed by us. MIH will continue to partner with Wunan in the long term, providing advice, more complex content and design enhancements, and user support.

Wunan were delighted to find a creative company that provided high quality outcomes at a reasonable cost. We would recommend MIH to anyone in need of a company that works with you, provides strong creative support and enables you to build long term relationships with their talented and easy going team.
